Spread Your Wings

Spread Your Wings was inspired by my nephew. His papa had left him with me while he went shopping. The kid became terribly saddened and just stood by the door waiting for him to return. So, like a good aunt, I told him that Daddy would fly back home and see him in 2 hours (pointing to the clock).

This a 12 x 12 layout. I used DCWV-TradeWinds and Mediterranean Cafe, K&Company -Terri Conrad Sweet Line, and My Minds Eye - Lost and Found paper line.

An 8" diameter Medallion Lace Doily was glimmer misted with Tattered Angels - Golden Terracotta. Book leaves (sent in a swap) were crinkled and adhered to the back of the doily. I am roses flowers and leaves were used to accent different parts of the page. Recollections - black rhinestones were also used to strike a dramatic color contrast to draw your eyes to the layout.

Images from the Lost and Found paper were put on pop darts to create a 2 dimensional element. A Michaels - $1.00 Bin Hope Glass Tag was adhered to the layout.

Flowers were grouped in 3 or more. The title was directly taken from the Lost and Found paper

The Martha Stewart - Daisy Fan punch was used with the My Minds Eye - Life Stories paper line. Recollections - Black trim was adhered to the Daisy Fan cut-out. White - Couture Bloom Trim was adhered over the black trim. Crytallzz - green pearls were used as centers of each rose. Two edges of the layout were curled inward to make the layout look vintage.

Popz Story

Happy Fathers Day,
Another great project coming to you from Serafinascrapping. I painted a 5 x7 canvas with FolkArt-Metallic Sequin Black.  I then removed excess paint with paper towel to get a faded jean look. The paper line used is DCWV Tradewinds and Tattered Time

I used a Tim Holtz Ideaology-Adage Ticket for the "story." I cut some domino images from the Tattered Time paper line. I then rolled the corners of the paper and elevated each image using pop-darts. I created all the ribbon used in this project. The "POPZ" is from my 2003 Lil Davis scrapbook collection. The canvas has a tag tucked way behind the photo mat.

I created the tag using Tim Holtz and Inkadinkado Stamps and Ink Pads. Stamps used by name are Inkadinkado - Happy Days, Tim Holtz - Urban Grunge and The Journey. Ink pads used were Barn Door, Black Soot, and Peeled Paint.

Swap Gift

Just a quick project for scrapbooking, fun, or whatever. I stamped at tag and colored certain areas using my Stampin-up colored pencils and used ribbon I made to accent the tag. I then colored a Prima flower and placed a button in the middle. Several Lolly-pop flowers were created: taupe, aquamarine, canary, and ebony. Flowers can be removed and used for anything your mind can fathom. Hehe.

Knock, Knock, and Read the Sign

Hi everyone,
I purchased this door sign at JoAnn and painted the item with Folk Art-Baby Pink paint. The item was highlighted with Folk Art-Metallic Antique Copper paint. The paper collection used was My Minds Eye-Totally Girl and DCWV-Tattered Time.

The clock tucked away in the background is a rub-on from Michaels. The ribbon trim is from my local Ben-Franklin store and I added centers using Crystallzz-glass pearls in green. I then added some Recollection-roses and I am roses-leaves to the sign.

The label tag is so old, I think it's from the 2003 Daisy D's collection. Yes, I have been scrapbooking for that long! I punched a Martha Stewart-Monarch Butterfly images for the corner. I then used the Recollections-Brown rhinestones to decorate around the door sign. The word "Time" is from Michaels $1.00 bin.

The images are from the Graphic 45-Steam Punk Collections and the larger image was UT embossed. The big pine leaf is from I am roses and was stamped with Tim Holtz-Pealed Paint.

The ribbon is self created using a special technique. Let me know if you would like some.

This is the back for the door sign.

The big roses and small green leaves are from I am roses. The leaves and big branch are from Recollections. The ribbon is the one I created, the black beads are from JoAnn, and the lace trim is from Walmart. The dress is from the Inkadinkado-Friendship collection and the stand was cut from my Cricut-Wanderings Cartridge.

Recollections-black rhinestones was used to highlight different areas on the tag.

You may have your favorite side, but I luv the back more than the front. It must be the girly-girl in me.

Enjoy, Kiki

Chirp, Chirp, and Enjoy

Hello, Just thought I would post a really fun project. This wooden birdhouse can be purchased from your Michael's $1.00 bin. I painted the item with Folk Art - True Burgundy paint. I then used buttons of various sizes for the roof.

I covered the birdhouse midsection with K&Company paper. I then took some of that same double sided paper and tore off and curled the edges to get the green paper look. A UT Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly was punched out and placed near the bird resting peg. I added some Recollections rhinestone bling and added some Recollections and I am roses flowers and leaves. Some Recollections-Summer Lace Trim was added under the roof and around the bird house to get some unexpected color.

Tim Holtz- "Dream" Adage Ticket was added for extra lure. Finally, Folk Art - Pearl White paint was used on the buttons, to give an aged roof feeling, and to the burgundy bottom of the house.

Today~~

Happy Greetings,

I made this layout for a friends birthday. I used the Tattered Time paper, by DCWV, for the layout and backwards frame.

A Tim Holtz-Ornate Plate was used to frame the year the picture was taken. The year 2008 was made using Making Memories rub-ons. Prima Marketing-crystal branch and leaves were used to draw your eyes up to the  picture.

"The beginning is always today" phrase was obtained from DCWV Vellum Sentiments booklet. The shape used was obtained by a Tim Holtz Sizziz Bigz Die - Hanging Sign. I then used a EK Success two-way glue pen to apply glue around the edges for the shape and Studio G glitter was sprinkled around the edges. The key is from Michael's $1.00 bin.

The metal clock piece and gadget gear are from the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology collection (Time Pieces Clock Faces and Sprocket Gears). The matted leaves and roses are from I am roses. The glittered evergreen leaves and medium roses are from Michael's Celebrations and Recollections brands.

Enjoy, Kiki

Memories Shine

This frame is from the Michael's $1.00 bin. I did not know where I wanted to start so I painted it with Purple Peony paint from Folk Art. I then used Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmer Mist spray. I used some Michael's $1.00 rub-ons for the key, clock, and the word "shine".

The paper is by KCompany and was torn  and rolled to give it a tattered look. Small green leaves and large flowers are from "I am roses.com." Dew drops are part of the Michael's recollection embellishments

A Making Memories metal Memories embellishment was used for part of the tittle. The KCompany paper was highlighted with Worn Lipstick dye from Tim Holtz.

Recollections Rhinestone sticker bling was used to highlight around the frame.

Big leaves and small roses are also part of Michael's Recollection embellishments. The yellow tone rose is trim from my local fabric store. I used 3 Crystallzz pearls as the center of the roses.

Enjoy, Kiki

Notas Secretos

Hi everyone,
I really luv how this $1.00 Michael's box turned out. I painted the box with Folkart Black Metallic Paint. The top, front, and back were covered with DCWV Tah Mahal paper. I then used Michael's Recollections flowers, leaves, dew drops and rhinestone sticker bling to decorate the box.

I attached the Laugh Making Memories Metal Embellishment under the flower petal. I then inserted a home made stick pin and metal butterfly. Two images from Graphic 45 Steam-punk Debutant collection were cut out and used. One was UT embossed and inserted under a flower petal and the other was used for the closure knob.

Hope you enjoy and please share how you completed your project.

Hugs, Kiki

Couture Trim Storage

This is a great and inexpensive way to store your lace. Plant basket was purchased at the Dollar store. It was then spray painted white..left to dry... and hanged on the Wall.

Enjoy,
